Voice Commands Overview

Voice commands provide control over temporary voice channels created by VoiceMaster. These commands allow channel owners to customize, manage, and control their voice channels directly from Discord. This guide documents all available voice commands, from basic channel management to advanced features.

Understanding Voice Commands

All voice commands start with /voice and provide control over temporary voice channels. These commands function only within temporary voice channels created by VoiceMaster.

How Voice Commands Work

Voice commands operate with the following characteristics:
  • Temporary channels only - Commands work exclusively in VoiceMaster-created channels
  • Owner permissions - Channel creators have full control over their channels

Basic Channel Management Commands

These commands provide basic voice channel management functionality.

/voice name - Change Channel Name

Modify the name of your voice channel. Useful for indicating the channel's purpose or activity.
/voice name name: Sam's Gaming Room
  • Set custom names - Assign any name to your voice channel
  • Update names - Change the channel name multiple times

/voice limit - Set User Limit

Define the maximum number of users who can join your voice channel.
/voice limit limit: 5
  • Control capacity - Set maximum user limits for channels
  • Set unlimited - Use 0 for unlimited users (default setting)

/voice lock - Lock Channel

Prevent new users from joining your voice channel.
/voice lock
  • Blocks new users - Prevents additional users from joining
  • Preserves current members - Existing members remain in the channel

/voice unlock - Unlock Channel

Allow new users to join your previously locked voice channel.
/voice unlock
  • Enables new users - Allows additional users to join the channel

/voice claim - Claim Ownership

Take ownership of a voice channel when the original owner leaves.
/voice claim
  • Channel control - Full ownership of the voice channel

User Access Control Commands

These commands provide control over user access to voice channels.

/voice permit - Permit Users

Allow specific users or roles to join your locked voice channel.
/voice permit mention: @Sam
  • Selective access - Allow specific users to join locked channels
  • User/role targeting - Use @mentions to specify users or roles

/voice reject - Reject Users

Prevent specific users or roles from joining your voice channel and kick them if they are already in the channel.
/voice reject mention: @Troublemaker
  • User blocking - Prevent specific users from joining the channel
  • User removal - Kicks users from the channel if they are already present
  • Targeted restrictions - Use @mentions to specify users or roles

Advanced Voice Commands

These commands provide advanced voice channel management features.

/voice status - Set Channel Status

Add a custom status message to your voice channel.
/voice status status: Watching a movie
  • Activity indication - Show current activity or purpose

/voice lfm - Looking for Members

Send a "Looking for Members" message to your server's designated LFM channel.
/voice lfm
  • Channel posting - Sends messages to the designated LFM channel

/voice text - Create Text Channel

Create a temporary text channel linked to your voice channel.
/voice text
  • Voice channel linking - Text channel appears alongside the voice channel
  • Automatic management - Deleted when the voice channel is deleted

/voice game - Auto-Game Detection

Automatically change your channel name to match the game you're playing.
/voice game
  • Automatic detection - Identifies the game you're currently playing
  • Name synchronization - Updates channel name to match your game

/voice bitrate - Adjust Audio Quality

Change the audio quality (bitrate) of your voice channel. Higher bitrate provides better audio quality but requires more bandwidth.
/voice bitrate bitrate: 128
  • 96 kbps - Standard quality (default setting)
  • 128 kbps - High quality audio
  • 256 kbps - Maximum quality (requires server upgrade)

/voice ghost - Hide Channel

Make your voice channel invisible to other members.
/voice ghost
  • Channel invisibility - Channel disappears from the channel list
  • Member preservation - Existing members remain in the channel

/voice unghost - Make Channel Visible

Make your ghosted voice channel visible to other members again.
/voice unghost
  • Restores visibility - Channel appears in the channel list again

/voice invite - Invite Users

Send a direct invitation to specific users to join your voice channel.
/voice invite member: @Sam message: Join our gaming session!
  • Direct targeting - Send invitations to specific users
  • Custom messaging - Include personalized invitation messages

/voice nsfw - Mark as NSFW

Mark your voice channel as NSFW (Not Safe For Work).
/voice nsfw toggle: True
  • Warning display - Shows appropriate warnings to users

/voice transfer - Transfer Ownership

Transfer ownership of your voice channel to another user.
/voice transfer user: @Sam
  • Control transfer - Transfer all channel management rights to another user

/voice region - Change Server Region

Change the voice server region for your channel. Useful for reducing latency or connecting to specific regions.
/voice region region: us-east
  • automatic - Discord automatically chooses the best region for users in the channel
  • Specific regions - Choose from us-east, us-west, europe, singapore, and other available regions
