Setting up VoiceMaster is easier than you think! In just a few minutes, you'll have temporary voice channels that automatically appear when your members need them and disappear when they don't. No more cluttered voice channel lists!
This guide will walk you through the entire setup process, from inviting the bot to your server to configuring all the features. Let's get started!
Step 1: Invite VoiceMaster to Your Server
First things first - you need to get VoiceMaster into your Discord server. This is the foundation for everything else!

Required Permissions
VoiceMaster needs these permissions to work properly:
- Manage Roles - To set up channel permissions
- Manage Channels - To create and delete temporary voice channels
- View Channels - To see your server's channel structure
- Send Messages - To respond to commands and provide feedback
- Send Messages in Threads - To send messages in thread channels
- Create Public Threads - To create public thread channels
- Create Private Threads - To create private thread channels
- Manage Threads - To manage thread channels
- Embed Links - To send rich embeds in messages
- Read Message History - To read messages in channels
- Use External Emojis - To use emojis from other servers
- Use Application Commands - To respond to slash commands
- Connect - To access voice channels

After Inviting
Once you've invited the bot:
- Check your server member list - VoiceMaster should appear online
- Verify the bot has a role - It should have been assigned a role automatically
- Test basic functionality - Try the
/pingcommand to make sure it's working
Understanding Setup Types
Before you start configuring VoiceMaster, it's important to understand the different ways you can create temporary voice channels. VoiceMaster offers four different setup types, each with its own benefits and use cases:
Default Setup (Free)
Perfect for getting started! Users can name their own channels and set their own limits.
- User Control: Members choose their own channel names
- Flexible Limits: Users can set their own user limits
- Simple Setup: Easiest to configure and understand
- Free Feature: Available to all servers
Sequential Setup (Premium)
Creates numbered channels with predefined names and limits. Great for organized communities!
- Numbered Channels: Creates "Gaming 1", "Gaming 2", etc.
- Consistent Naming: All channels follow the same pattern
- Predefined Limits: You set the user limit for all channels
- Clean Organization: Keeps your voice channel list tidy
Predefined Setup (Premium)
Uses templates with variables to create personalized channels automatically.
- Template Variables: Use {username}, {seq}, {game}, etc.
- Personal Touch: Channels like "{username}'s Channel" or "{game} Room"
- Automatic Numbering: {seq} adds numbers automatically
- Game Integration: {game} shows what game the user is playing
Clone Setup (Premium)
Copies the name, user limit, and bitrate from your "Join to Create" channel.
- Exact Copy: New channels match the original channel exactly
- Consistent Settings: Same name, limit, and bitrate every time
- Simple Management: Change the original to update all new channels
- Perfect for Templates: Great when you want identical channels
Step 2 (Recommended): Configure VoiceMaster via Dashboard
The dashboard is the easiest and most user-friendly way to set up VoiceMaster. It provides a visual interface where you can see all your options and configure everything with just a few clicks.
Accessing the Dashboard
To get to your VoiceMaster dashboard:

Click your profile picture in the top right corner

Select "Dashboard" from the dropdown menu

Choose your server from the left sidebar (you need admin permissions!)
Creating Your First Setup
Here's how to create your first voice channel template:

Click "New Setup" to create your first voice channel template

Choose your setup type (Default, Sequential, Predefined, or Clone)

Feature Toggles in Dashboard
The dashboard also lets you easily enable or disable features for your voice channels. All available toggles are explained in detail below after the Discord commands section.
Step 2 (Alternative): Configure VoiceMaster via Discord Commands
If you prefer using Discord commands or want to set up VoiceMaster directly in your server, you can use these commands instead of the dashboard.
Setup Command Parameters
Each setup command includes several parameters you can configure:
- name - The name template for channels (for Sequential and Predefined setups)
- limit - The user limit for channels (0 = unlimited)
- editable - Whether users can change the channel name and limit (true/false)
- category - The category where temporary channels will be created
- permission - Where to copy permissions from: "category" or "join to create"

VoiceMaster provides four main setup commands, each corresponding to the setup types we discussed:
/setup default- Creates channels with user-defined names and limits/setup sequence- Creates numbered channels with predefined settings/setup predefined- Uses templates with variables for channel names/setup clone- Copies settings from your "Join to Create" channel
Default Setup Command
Use this command to create a basic setup where users control their own channels:
/setup default- Choose their own channel names using
/voice name - Set their own user limits using
/voice limit - Customize their channels with various voice commands
- Have full control over their temporary voice channel
Sequential Setup Command
Create numbered channels that stay organized and clean:
/setup sequence name: Gaming limit: 4- "Gaming 1", "Gaming 2", "Gaming 3" - Numbered for easy identification
- Consistent user limits - You set the limit for all channels
- Organized appearance - Keeps your voice channel list tidy
- Easy management - All channels follow the same pattern
Predefined Setup Command
Use templates with variables to create personalized channels:
/setup predefined name: {username}'s Room limit: 0- {username} - Replaced with the user's Discord username
- {seq} - Adds sequential numbers (1, 2, 3, etc.)
- {game} - Shows the game the user is currently playing
- Custom templates - Create channels like "{username}'s Gaming Room"
Clone Setup Command
Copy the exact settings from your "Join to Create" channel:
/setup clone- Channel name - New channels have the same name
- User limit - Same limit as the original channel
- Bitrate - Same audio quality settings
- All settings - Everything matches the original exactly
Step 3: Enable Features with Toggles
VoiceMaster comes with many powerful features that you can enable or disable. These toggles let you customize exactly how the bot behaves on your server.
Dashboard vs Commands
You can manage toggles in two ways:
- Dashboard Method: Use the visual interface in your dashboard for easy point-and-click control
- Command Method: Use the
/togglecommand directly in Discord for quick changes - Both work the same: Changes made in either place apply immediately to your server
Available Feature Toggles
Here are all the features you can control with the toggle command:
- Name - Allow users to change channel names
- Limit - Allow users to set channel user limits
- Status - Allow users to set channel status messages
- Lock - Allow users to lock/unlock their channels
- Claim - Allow users to claim ownership of channels
- Reject - Allow users to reject people from their channels
- Permit - Allow users to permit specific people to join
- Ghost - Allow users to hide channels from non-members
- LFM - Allow "Looking for Members" functionality
- Text - Automatically create text channels with voice channels
